and he came to california

I really wish Todd Selby had been able to go to Kime's pad on his recent trip because he documents people's amazing spaces to share with people like me and you.

Cali who owns Hope gallery in echo park & Jenna from Mika Miko's apt.

I am slowly working on getting enough photo booth strips to run across the length of the wall above my bed at home.

These belong to LA designer Brian Lichtenberg, I think the bathroom at the smell should be repainted to look like this, although it wouldn't stay clean for long.

pt. 2 later.

I love...tacky nails

I CAN'T GET ENOUGH.
and I don't think I should be deprived of them.

I have had this photo saved for awhile, it makes it hard to look at now that the damage done from my acrylics have fully grown out.
Long trashy nails gold glitter nails may you rest in peace.

How LA kids are making the switch to the east coast in violent gangs.

I was kindly liked to this article and I'm not going to lie...Its true, at least i hope it is. We ride together, we die together.

Just wait there is a whole fresh batch of LA kids coming in the next 2 weeks...

on a semi related note since this article concerns Gabi and I...
the FMS is serious business, seriously.

Dorm Room Concepts

We are going to college! my dear friends please don't fall for the stereotypical dorm room look. Don't buy into it!!!! So I have decided to try to bring you all dorm concepts or how to bring your own touch into something that has always been pretty cookie cutter.

1. Pick a color theme. Don't go overboard like buying everything in all the same shade of red or all bright colors, but try to keep your linens in the same color tones so they work together.2.Personalize your side of the room. make it yours, but keep in mind your roommates taste.
3. keep your walls simple and get bright, colorful and most importantly COMFY quilts or duvets.
This duvet cover here is infact the one I plan to use in my dorm. It can be found at Ikea. Don't be afraid to have more than one quilt or duvet cover, and an extra set of sheets is highly recommended by all.
4. Don't just hang things from the walls, especially if you have like cinder block cement walls, see of you can hang things from the ceiling like these colorful paper orbs available through Martha Stewart's line at Michael's.
5. This is probably the first time some of you have control of what gets hung on the fridge since you were little. My parents have been kind enough to let me be in charge of what gets put on the fridge, so just think of it as a collage space that can constantly be changed and added to. My fridge is more cluttered than this but they have the concept down.

Wallpaper from the 70s

I stumbled upon a great wallpaper site the other day. Floral dreams, Baroque patterns, and designs that belong in a psychedelic pad, they have it! I am tempted to buy something from Wallpaper from the 70s yet I don't know if I have a wall to spare. What am I thinking I would give up all the walls in my house in a second.
These are some of my favorites from the site.

snapshots

I love frames, don't get me wrong but when living in a dorm, a temporary residence, frames aren't that practical, so I went into my stash of pictures to find all my favorite ways of displaying your pictures, polaroids and other snapshots! I feel like every dorm has a polaroid wall, so these are a few examples of how to mix it up.

1. Don't line them up in a perfect rectangle, make a montage blob, not everything is perfect in the world.
note: don't just keep your polaroids in your bedroom, they can go anywhere, use caution putting them on your door, they will be attacked.

2. Or if order is your style, get out a ruler and make sure everything is perfectly symmetrical and straight. This first one is my absolute favorite, and belongs to a friend of mine.

3. Shapes! Mountains, peace signs (ala sam weinberg), words, use your imagination.

4. Instead of taping or tacking your pictures to a wall grab some string and clothes pins.

In other news, nothing much is going on. 3 weeks left in high school and it is all parties, projects, and ceremonies.
