The Girls

So I guess friday was the last day of school
but according to the school district, today was.
I went around noon
with my new camera, stopped by Mrs. B.S.'s class for some talk about photo and next year
then to Mr. Carrier's class for a quick chat and a portrait taken of me. Then to Mrs. Gardner where we talked and ate some cookies. I then went and chilled with the young libraian... he asked me if I played strip poker this weekend when I said I wasn't playing the game for money. It was a good day but it still doesn't feel like summer.

The setting sun outside my bedroom window

I went and saw Nacho Libre
It was funny and very well directed and filmed. The locations are great.
Yesterday I saw a Prarrie Home Companion, I enjoyed it being a fan of the radio program.
My dad got me Golden Girls seasons 4&5 so now I am set for a few days...I will check in once my marathon is through....

oh the end of an era

Well I can't say I didn't see it coming, yet it was still a shock.
Yes Aaron Spelling died last night at the age of 83.
For months now I have been going on about how it will be the end of an era.. really the close of the 20th century when Aaron Spelling and Hugh Hefner dies. Their contributions to our culture, as fluffed and mind candy as they may seem have an deep impact. Aaron Spelling produced all those shows that we have all seen atleast one episode of, whether we want to admit it or not. Charlies Angels, Dynasty, Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose Place, Charmed and my favorite, 7th Heaven as well as many others. Aaron spelling was once quoted saying "My epitaph will be: 'Tori Spelling's father, did "90210" and "melrose Place," lived in a big house.' That's going to be it." It's nice to see the man had a sense of humor about his life, It is something we should all learn to do.

Another era has ended.
The class of 2006 has graduated.
These were the kids who were 8th graders when I was a little 6 grader, they are the friends who I have grown so close to and love. My heart is broken at the thought I won't see these friends every single day. I realize I recently wrote about this, but seeing them in their caps and gown made it all to surreal.

oh and to top this week off, my digital camera broke, I was beyond sad for about 5 minutes, until my dad came into the room with a box. And what was the box you might ask? A brand new Canon EOS Digital Rebel camera!!!! it is amazing and I am still trying to figure it out, but it is so great! I cried when I saw what it was, it meant so much. So hopefully I will get some great pictures coming in from that baby

Heres to you, Lazy Daisy

My pretty little blonde head is melting.
I'm catching up on roasting in the sun, and doing hardcore review for the oh so lovely finals!
turning things in cleaning classrooms, bringing work home, looking at the seniors leaving.
I was driving into LA the other day, my mom asked me about my friends graduating, I started to reminise about the year..its hard to drive on PCH while tearing up.

Friends going to New York, northern California, Illinois and such...
But then there are those staying at community colleges..whle they are not going to be to far, it is the things I have taken for granted this whole year, the walking to classes with them, and sharing homework, putting together study packets, playing around in the darkroom, and the most amazing hugs in the world that I will miss.

My father's day went well, My dad and I went biking in Santa Monica and Venice together, something we have enjoyed doing together my entire life. I made the mistake, one that I have made before, of feeding the pigeons and and seagulls french fries from hotdog on a stick

no one knows what paella is..

I am surrounded by people who are uncultured

I must quote my friend marten in english today (it was comfort food day)
when asked who he would invite to dinner, out of anyone in history, alive or dead, fictional or not and what he would feed them he awnsered

"the mona lisa, and I would feed her pad thai, taquitos, and fanta"

ah I love my english class

we watch the FIFA World cup everyday in class

I also got in a pft with my teacher over me throwing away my disposable plastic container.. long story, I wish I could have recycled it or washed it out, but I did not want to carry around something that smelled like seafood all day, I already smell of photo chemicals

The return of the Camera Cord

Somehow my camera cord made it's way into the garage,
so I have a few pictures I took last weekend while babysitting Miss Gina Lola Sofia

ah I love the ROSEBOWL SWAPMEET
I went with my mum and my cute little friend Sarah. I tried to find her a dress for her 8th grade graduation, nosucess there but she did find an owl necklace and a fabulos pair of shoes which I pointed out to her.
I also saw an old friend from school Allen, who graduated last year
and I ran into Kime!
I bought 2 dresses,
a blue top and a black belt

Welcome to the L.A. bitch!

I decided ET is my obscure find for the day, nothing creepier than a little alien in a bathrobe.

Panic! (but no disco this weekend)

Panic!
~Digi Camera Cord is officially M.I.A.

Party!
~Friday+Weekend+Culinary school (LGC)+ Rosebowl Swapmeet+ news that Miss E may get to intern at Paper Magazine!!

As for the June Gloom that has made its annual appearance along the sunny coast of ol' Cali, it means bright sundresses with cute, cozy cardigans for the morning chill, and intense jigsaw puzzle sessions in photo.

pictures shall hopefully join this post as soon as I can find where my housekeeper hid the cord.

I must retire now, this girlie girl can only handle so much for one day..

Around the world, around the world

Friday was the last coffee house for the school year...Instead of being crammed into the library, everyone gathered up blankets and cuddled up in the quad for a night of music and poetry

Jackson & Joe..

Kate & Jackson..

Alexa..Mac..Charles..and of course Sandro..

Saturday night Chelsea, Alexa and I found ourselves at LAyouth's 14 Below seeing Darren Weiss, The Morning Benders, The Naturals, and Simon Dawes
I highly recommend The Naturals and The Morning Benders
The are real up and coming bands
The lead singer of The Naturals is completely influenced by Jim Morrison and Lou Reed

We hung with Ian and met some new friends
and saw some Malibu kids

and got a hell of a lot of dancing in
check the link on the side of my page that says LAyouth
there are some pictures that Ian took and some that I took that got in on his camera
